Client Services Coordinator

Zenida Acevedo serves as the Client Services Coordinator at Steppin Stones Professional Supervision, LLC, bringing experience in child welfare, supervised visitation, and client support. Her background includes working with Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois, where she supervised parent-child and sibling visits, coordinated transportation, documented family interactions, and collaborated with caseworkers and supervisors to support families’ needs.

Through this work, Zenida has developed an understanding of the challenges families face when navigating the child welfare system and the importance of safe, comfortable spaces for children and parents to connect. Her experience also includes connecting families with community resources and building relationships with parents and foster caregivers.

Zenida brings strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality to her role at Steppin Stones. Her background in customer service and administrative support helps her provide clear communication and a welcoming experience for families as they take their next steps forward.

Clinical Supervisor

 Sandy Esparza serves as the Clinical Supervisor at Steppin Stones Professional Supervision, LLC, bringing experience in trauma-informed care for children, adolescents, and families. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Sandy specializes in supporting individuals and families healing from trauma, particularly those impacted by sexual abuse.

Her background spans schools, child welfare, juvenile justice, and community settings, giving her a strong understanding of the challenges faced by court-involved families. At Steppin Stones, Sandy provides clinical guidance and support to the team, helping ensure that services remain responsive to each family’s needs while keeping children’s safety and emotional well-being at the forefront.

Sandy approaches her work with empathy, dignity, and respect. She is committed to helping create an environment where children and parents feel supported as they work toward healthier family relationships. A lifelong Cook County resident, she also serves as Clinical Director at Family Solutions of Illinois and is the founder of Marigold Therapeutics.
